Miguel Chiriap, Uwishin

Welcome to the Internet-site of Miguel Chiriap Uwishin. Miguel is a traditional Shuar-healer with extensive knowledge on medicinal plants and on the human energy field. He and his family live near Gualaquiza in the southeastern part of Ecuador. Their house is surrounded by lush vegetation and stands on the edge of the rainforest.

Miguel and his family have been organizing traditional Shuar healing-ceremonies for the past twenty-five years. The healing ceremonies usually start in the evening and last until the next morning. During a ceremony various medicinal plants are used to help in the healing process. Additionally Miguel Chiriap will assist you in your own healing process, using healing techniques that have been cultivated by the Shuar for thousands of years. Healing does not only occur on a physical level, but also on an emotional, mental and spiritual level.

You are very welcome to stay with Miguel and his family. They will provide a warm and safe place for you to experience the healing techniques of the Shuar and to dive deeper into yourself. Guests can stay in the Guesthouse that has been build by the family. You can come and go anytime you like, but please call beforehand to check if Miguel is home before you journey to Gualaquiza. Although sacred medicinal plants are used in the ceremonies and are highly recommended, Miguel also understands that in some cases people would prefer not to use them. You are welcome at his house anyway, if that is the case, as healing and learning also occurs without you using extracts of medicinal plants.
